I warned you all that Harry Potter was dangerous for our kids…
Firefighters Work Magic on ‘Harry Potter’ Fan Stuck in Traffic Cone ‘Wizard Hat’
Tuesday, October 23, 2007
FoxNews.comEven the sorting hat couldn’t have seen this coming.
A Georgia toddler emulating Harry Potter was unable to execute a vanishing spell after getting a traffic cone stuck on his head and instead needed to wait for firefighters to work their magic to free him, MyFoxAtlanta.com reports.

Six rescue members worked for 30 minutes on Friday to free the boy, 3-year-old Charlie Thomas, after the boy donned the cone like a wizard’s hat during a game of pretend.
A Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said it was a rare rescue for the firefighters: “We’ve had kids stuck in various things and had saucepans stuck on them but never a traffic cone.”
Sean,
Please disregard all pro-Harry Potter comments that I have ever made in the past. This story certainly proves the dangers of getting mixed up in those books! Man, that’s great stuff! Sounds like something you would have done as a kid…except I’m sure you would have been playing “Gandalf,” not Harry Potter.
LOL. Consider your comments deleted, Tristan.
Actually, I never read Lord of the Rings until I was an adult. In fact, I just read them all again over the Summer, starting with the Silmarillion, The Hobbit, etc.
And yes, I wear wizard hats, but only the hats of wizards cast in a monotheistic worldview
.
LOL…I actually haven’t read the Hobbit or the Silmarillian yet. Is the Silmarillian any good, or is it just for nerds? Just curious…
Yeah, at least those monothesistic wizards recognize how evil their witchcraft is.
I am glad to see that Tristan finally realized the Truth that condoning witchcraft and sorcery to the youth of this world is not a Godly thing… Too bad it took a 3 year old getting hurt to do it.

PS – Please read my statement with the “jest” in which it was written.
Tristan,
The first time I read the Silmarillion I enjoyed it, but it was exactly “great”. This time through was a different story. I really enjoyed it. Yeah, it’s definitely for nerds. Thus, you should enjoy it yourself. ZING!
No, monotheistic wizards recognize what the Source of their power is and are free to use their power responsibly. Nice try though.

Matt,
Trust me, a whole lot more 3 year olds will need to get hurt before Tristan will finally realize the Truth that condoning witchcraft and sorcery to the youth of this world is not a Godly thing….
Sean and Matt,
Great comments! I especially enjoyed the “nerd” one. Just for clarification, I think we can safely define “nerd” as being anyone who knows Middle Earth history better than they know real history.
Yeah, Sean’s right, it will take at least a half-a-dozen three year olds getting hurt before I am totally convinced.
