Arrgh! My Brain!

Ok, time for another outrageous story.

From FoxNews.com, Brit Hume:

The government in Northern Ireland has banned the word “brainstorming” in some workplaces, insisting it could offend those with epilepsy and other brain disorders. Specifically, the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment in Belfast says it “does not use the term brainstorming … on the grounds that it may be deemed pejorative.” According to London’s Guardian newspaper, the department will now use the term “thought-showers” instead.

Pardon me, but do you have any duct tape? I need some for head — it’s GOING TO EXPLODE!

  1. I think a better description might be “brainfart”, though I might feel different if I had epilepsy. Thankfully I’m only horizontally challenged, and digestively impaired. Ah, I love PC!

  2. Not a very flattering picture, whoever it is…

Crohns Boy, what’s wrong with being politically correct? And I find your use of terminology such as “b——–” offensive. You sound like one of those “jersey jerks” to me. Why not use your real name? Are you making fun of people with epilepsy just to prove you aren’t PC? My great-aunt has epilepsy, buddy! And my mother’s short too! And I had a stomach virus just last night! The more I read your post the more upset I become! You’re probably a republican too…

PS–Have you seen any rats run across the kitchen counters down there lately?

  3. Who? (again w/o a name),
I am full of compassion for those that are afflicted with ailments such as epilepsy. Give me the names of you relatives that are so afflicted so I can pray for them. We in the AoG (unlike some others NAZ) still believe that God can give healing to those that ask for it.
I lack compassion, however, for those that prey on the unfortunes of others to claim a moral high ground. For shame, who!!!! Alas, I must forgive because I was first forgiven…

Note: The only rats I’ve seen recently are in the Democratic Party…

  4. I personally like the wording of brainstorming, because in reality that’s what happens to me when I’m trying to come up with a new idea, or make a decision.

  5. Crohns boy,
Horizontally challenged? Do you sleep all the time, or what? Narcaleptic? Help me here. Did you mean vertically challenged as in short?

    JGG

  6. alternative medicine was the subject I was researching when I came across your site, Sean Scribner. General interest and popularity of the subject Arrgh! My Brain! has lead me to your site as well as to alternative medicine. Yours is a fine site providing a real service and exceptional content. Thanks for reading my comment
